The second biggest city in Italy, home of the AC and Inter and one of the world's fashion hubs, Milan really does have it all. It might not have a Colosseum, but that could almost be considered a minor detail.
The best way to see Milan however is in your own time and by hiring a car. Remember to check with your car insurance provider if you will be covered in Italy whilst driving a rental car.

The Milan Cathedral is also not to be missed; it is the third largest cathedral in the world, behind only the legendary St. Peter's Basilica (Rome) and the Cathedral of Seville. It was built between 1386 and 1577 and is host to the biggest collection of marble statues in the world, including the famous golden Madonna statue that stands tall at the top of its spire.
So for a true sense of old meets new visit Milan for the historic sites and the shopping, oh the shopping, it will definitely have you planning your next visit as soon as you leave, or arrive even!
